Firefighter Carries Elderly Woman to Her Seat at Concert

Firefighters are such amazing people, and they're always on duty, even when they're not at work. They're always looking for ways to help others.

Thomas is a volunteer firefighter in his community, and recently, he and his wife, Shayla, went to a concert. As they sat there waiting for the show to start, Shayla pointed out an elderly woman who seemed to be having trouble climbing the stadium stairs to her seat. Thomas jumped up, ran to the woman and helped her climb the stairs. He made sure she was seated and comfortable before returning to Shayla.

Once the show was over, the same woman seemed really tired and like she was going to have trouble getting back down the stairs. So without missing a beat, Thomas scooped the older woman into his arms and carried her all the way down the steps so she wouldn't have to make the walk.

Shayla posted a really sweet picture of Thomas in action (below), and it went viral pretty quickly with tons of people calling Thomas a hero for what he did. He's shrugged off all the attention and simply said that he was doing what any decent person would do. He said, "If you're alive and breathing, you shouldn't need an excuse to help someone else. If they need help, help them."
