92-year-old John Benanti finally got to take part in his high school graduation ceremony, something he’s been dreaming about for 75 years. A few months ago he spoke at an elementary school and mentioned that he never had the chance to get his diploma because he chose to serve and fight in WWII. When teachers and the principal at Garfield High School heard about this, they knew they had to do something. At the Garfield High School graduation on June 21st, John, surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and fellow vets, was finally able to receive his diploma.
