LOCAL FEELS: Brooklyn Senior Center Collects Goods For Bahamas Hurricane Relief

September 20, 2019 | Dave MooreKristen James

Local Feels

The United Senior Center of Sunset Park is giving back to those affected by hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas. A group of volunteer residents got together and filled over 30 boxes with shampoo, canned food, water, pet food, flashlights, toiletries, and more. A lot of the seniors at the center are from Puerto Rico and were affected by Hurricane Maria, so they knew just how to help. They collected, organized and packed up the supplies and now they’re waiting for the Caribbean American Center of New York to take the goods and ship them out.

What a great way to come together and bless others. Maybe this will inspire YOU to think of ways to bless those who need help in the Bahamas?

What’s been happening in your town? We’d love to know. Reach out to us and let us know about some local feel-good stories that have been happening near you.

Blessings,

Dave & Kristen
