LOCAL FEELS: NYPD Officers Pay For Shoplifter’s Food

Local Feels

When a woman was caught stealing hot food from Whole Foods in Manhattan on 4th of July, the NYPD served her compassion. Lieutenant Sojo and Officers Cuevas and Rivera of the Strategic Response Group are kind-hearted cops who quietly do good deeds for New Yorkers in need. This one just happened to be caught on camera. The woman was being detained by store security when the NYPD officers stopped in to get some lunch. They asked her about the food in her bag and she tearfully admitted she had stolen it because she was hungry, so they each chipped in 10 bucks and paid for her food. The picture (in the video below) of this woman sobbing into a tissue surrounded by these officers has gone viral and their compassion has touched thousands of people.
