LOCAL FEELS: NYU Janitor Graduates Nursing School

After moving to America at 15 from the Dominican Republic, Frank Baez, stepped up and started working to support his family. His job as a janitor at NYU’s Langone Tisch Hospital inspired him to become a nurse. Now, at 29, Frank is the first person in his entire family to graduate from college. When he first started working at the hospital, he could barely speak English, now he’s so proud of how much he’s accomplished. Frank said he was never an A student but he studied a lot, worked hard and graduated with a 3.6 GPA! He said there were times he doubted himself, but then he just kept pushing forward.
