Sesame Street is getting a new puppet! Her name is Julia, and she will be the series’ first character with autism.

Julia made her first appearance back in October of 2015 in an online Digital Storybook called Sesame Street and Autism: See the Amazing in All Children, and now, she’s going to become a full-time character. She’ll pop up on the show next month when she’s introduced to Big Bird by Elmo and Abby Cadabby.

One of the writers for the show says that they’ve worked closely with autism organizations, educators and families so that they could find the best way to portray a child with autism – and that includes explaining autism at a pre-school level.
