Ever feel like you are in the middle of something big? Like you just got over that last hump, but somehow you’re still in the middle, it’s so easy to be questioning what's ahead. How do you get through this season of hardship even when you can't see the light ahead?
Take a moment to think about what you like to do when you’re looking for rest, a retreat, or to get some of that extra energy out. What fills my heart is being outdoors in God’s creation, breathing that fresh air while hiking through the mountains. Right now, we’re surrounded by snow, which has made getting out pretty difficult. Maybe you’re feeling the “winter blues” just like I am. For me, I'm holding on to the hope that the snow will soon be gone and I'll be able to get out into nature once again.
I’m learning that these are the moments when we need to lean in to God the most. We need to trust Him like we’ve never trusted Him before and be honest about how we’re feeling. He delights in us when we tell Him where our hearts are really at. He knows this already, but it’s a practice of faith when we intentionally bring our hearts to Him.
This season may be new or confusing to you, but it’s not new or confusing to Him. He’s all-knowing and has already made a way and carved out a path for you. Rest in knowing that He knows everything. He knows what He’s doing. You have nothing to fear because He is with you. He will guide you and flood you with His grace. He will strengthen you to keep moving forward into the unknown until you reach His promise.
Find rest, O my soul, in Christ alone; my hope comes from Him.
