Tyra is a cheerleader for her school in Texas, and recently, she was on a float in the homecoming parade when she happened to spot something bad happening in the crowd. It was a mother, holding her child up. The kid’s face was super red. He wasn’t breathing. And the mom was screaming for help, begging for someone to get her child able to breathe again.
Without thinking twice, Tyra jumped off the float and headed straight for them. She grabbed the boy, tilted him and gave three good back thrusts, at which point whatever was in his throat become dislodged and he could breathe again.
As it turns out, Tyra was trained in CPR when she was in 8th grade because her mom works in the medical field. She knew exactly what to do. Plus, her biggest goal in life is to become a pediatric surgeon so that she can help a lot of children. It’s no accident that God put her in the right place to help that day!
