Feels Good

Darius Leonard plays for the Indianapolis Colts. He was driving on Easter morning and happened to see a woman with a flat tire on the side of the road. He stopped and was shocked to find out it was his high school biology teacher, Martha Isbell. She had been on her way to Easter mass when the tire went flat.

These two apparently have kind of a rough history. Darius was the class clown back in the day and she was a stern teacher who went kind of hard on him, but she said she always had a soft spot for him and thought that deep down, he was a really good kid. She said he didn’t even hesitate, jumped out and changed the tire for her.

Martha said the incident was especially kind in her mind because something Darius couldn’t have known is that she’s been taking care of her father who is battling stage four cancer. If Darius hadn’t come by, her dad would have had to come help, and he wasn’t really in the physical shape to do that. Martha said not only did Darius save her dad the trip, but he made sure she was on time for Easter Mass, too!
