Melissa Fahy and her dad, Alan Cook, live in Westfield, New Jersey, and they made a pretty cool discovery this week while they were doing some work on their house. As they were making their renovations, an old typed letter fell out of a crack in the ceiling.
The letter was addressed to a man named Rolf Christofferson and it was dated May 4th, 1945. It was from his wife Virginia, and she wrote this love letter while Rolf was deployed in the Norwegian Navy. Melissa was just so touched by the note, she knew she had to track Rolf down and get this to him.
After a little bit of digging around online, she located his son, who lives with Rolf in Santa Barbara, California. What Melissa didn’t know is that Virginia passed away six years ago, and this letter was an absolute treasure for the husband that she left behind.
