15-year-old Jack Viglianco probably never expected his first day on the job to be as intense as it was.
Last Thursday was his first day working as a lifeguard at a pool in Ohio, and after only twenty minutes, he was really startled to look in the four foot section of the pool and see a four-year-old boy struggling to keep his head above the water and screaming for help every time he surfaced. Jack put the pool's emergency response plan into action, jumped off his chair, got in the pool and pulled the boy to safety.
The pool's management was so proud of how he handled the situation and say it's a stark reminder to all of us never to let our kids out of our sight when you're at the pool this summer.
