Well, they say there’s no place like home, right? It’s true. What a blessing it is to be able to come back home: Star 99.1. Originally here from 2006-2011, I left to pursue a radio opportunity in Philadelphia, but God moved a mountain and made a way for me to come back to the only radio station I’ve ever, truly loved. God works miracles and answers prayers, and me being at Star 99.1 again is living proof of His wonders.
More about me: “You sound like you’re from Jersey or Philly or something.” I’ve heard that a lot. I was born and raised in Central Jersey, went to Allentown High School in Western Monmouth, and spent A LOT of time in South Jersey growing up. You’ll hear a slight New Jersey accent out of me mixed with Philly slang.
A sub? Nah, it’s a hoagie.
Water ice? Nope. It’s Italian ice.
Taylor ham? No way. Pork roll.
I fold my pizza like a New Yorker and order a cheesesteak like a Philadelphian. See? I’m all mixed up. It’s all good, though.
When not on the radio, you can often find me dragging my teenage daughter Emily around to museums in the city, baseball games, book stores, flea markets, college football games (Go Irish!), shore points…pretty much everything she rolls her eyes at. I try to pack in as many activities as I can with her every weekend. It’s my hope that one day she’ll look back and smile when she thinks of everything we’ve done and everywhere we’ve been. And hey, I’m always looking out for something to do with her. Feel free to pass along some teen-friendly ideas.
